You got a lot of sweat equity in that beautiful patch of grass, Doug. Super job and it really looks nice.

I've got a different system for re-seeding my yard. Just let the grass grow tall enough to go to seed before cutting it!

Thanks for the lesson Dave

Doing sod would have been nice, but, since I am out in the sticks delivery would have been a lot with the high fuel prices this summer, plus I would have had to have everything prepped for it all at once. It so rocky here I wound up screening all the dirt to get a nice rock free soil to level and plant. I can go at my own pace that way, hence the staggered coverage in various shots.
I can look at it and know that literally every bit of soil with grass growing out of it has passed through my hands. My Father in Law bought this property in 71, the year Dyan and I got Married, we have lived here or close by since 77, and owned it outright for the last 10 or so. I was an Army brat, so wound up going to 17 different schools thru Hi School, So having a place with roots is really important to me. THe school my kids started school in is 2 miles down the road, so theres a lotta history here, plus theres room for the grands to play when they come out

I actually had to figure it out myself 1st, only used it once before

I live in "Rockland" & it lives up to its name. They hit ledge pouring the foundation for the garage, had to drill & pin it on the front. My entere side yard area (large) extending to the front street has been "destroyed" due to the trucks & excavator. I spent 2 days withe backhoe moving rocky dirt & backfilling the foundation

I still have a lot more to do. The area has been raise dup about 2' - which I like. It was a low lying area & used to be wet & mushy in the rain. But it's a lot of work doing the landscaping as you know
