Update on the lightning strike to da Casa
Yeeesssh!
hope no one ever has to deal with the stuff i 'm going thru on a lightning strike to their house 
the guys came yesterday to work on / replace damaged tv ant./rotor/rotor box/ coax etc. to tv ,,,,,
two guys, three hrs, had to drop down the 40 ft tower i got,,,
price? $785!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
"free" tv ain't cheap! 
$500 of that was parts,,,,
think i covered my $250 deduct on this one,,,,,
made up a ballpark list of replacing damaged goods in the house,,, $3500.00 +
couple of the big buck items gotta checked out first b4 they are condemned,,,,(too much to fix vs.replace)
pretty much everything else, was told by insure dude,,,go replace em......
this was b4 we faxed a copy of the bill for the tv stuff to him LOL.
go figger, 1/2 hr after my wife called me at work to tell my the final cost of the tv stuff, a guy at work offered to sell me his dish system,,,, cheap!
(i'm hopefully getting it tomorrow,,)

Update on the update:
Flood watch /Severe T-storm watch here tonite,,,
walked out to let the dogs out from the pole barn , inna downpour/lightnin show,,,,only think i could think of was:
calling my insure guy tomorrow, sayin i need to add more stuff to the list,,,,and call the antenna guys out again LOL(and try to keep a serious tone while doing same,,,,)LMAO
(Buddy of mine i work with, a hr north, big tree down in his yard, neighbor next to him got a tree on/in the roof, no power ,and the sump pump of course is powerless,,AND him and his wife are 5 hrs away ,driving home from a mini vacation in Wisc.
i'm on stand by call with his daughter at his house, if she needs me,,,,,,
mother nature,,,gotta luv her,,,

Just got off the phone with the insure guy, checks in the mail,,,well most of the money,,gotta get estimates on two of the tv's and the stereo reciever,,,,to see if fixing is a option over replacing,,,,heck he even added sales tax to the total!

even spookier,, I knew,You knew , i knew that you were gonna read something!LOL
Thought i was gonna have a problem with putting the UV in the DOA LIST,,,,("Wat the HECK is this?"  )
he said nothing about it (or the price,,hehehe, Aquatronics(old one) are JUST like Emperor(new) right? )
I commented about him not questioning/mentioning a "Saltwater Aquarium Ultra-Violet Sterilizer",,,he said, "I recently did a claim with the largest store(FW/SW ?) in Michigan,,,i DID learn a few things doing it" LMAO!

 Wow, Jeff!! What an ordeal you've been through. And a lesson for all of us, though I don't know what could be done to prevent such a disaster.
Good that you are near-by to help your friend's daughter if she needs it. What a horrible sight for them to come home to, after being on a vacation.

Wow, Jeff.. just caught up on your news -- wore me out visualizing it all!
We had 7 days in a row of SEVERE weather watch here at the same time in the Indy area, several Tornado warnings...the river was the highest it's been since 1913 or '16, ... two bridges were closed, a major street was flooded, the entrance to the hospital on one side was flooded (5 min. from my house) two major highways in/out of town were flooded and closed, I've never seen so much rain, lightning, wind, and thunder occur so many days in a row...and luckily we never lost power, although many did.
We were lucky and only had to stake one sapling that was nearly uprooted from the swirling wind.
I'm glad you insurance is pulling through for you!
