I believe that means that it can be used on any network versus only verizon phone being used on verizon network, etc. So that particular phone should work on AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, etc. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Be careful with that. My son got a t-mobile phone that was unlocked and we tried to use it with at&t service. Never worked right.

In theory it should work once you enter your sim card.

SIM card is usually under the battery on your phone, tho not all use them. Basically it's the memory that hold the programing and save all your contacts and settings, as well as ID the phone to the network

If you are an existing T mobile cutomer contracted to them, you should be able to use whatever phone, but I woul ask to be sure, they seem to be pretty rigid about THEIR policies

Read and see what the insurance covers. Seems like insurance would be for damages.

No kidding, it seems to vary with provider and the local agent, my grandson started with a plain old free phone and 3rd phone(replacement) is a Razor and I know they didn't pay extra
