Thanks! I've been going through the DVDs over the last few months, I have the first 10 seasons. I think the 11 came out a couple weeks ago, but I'll wait until the holidays or something.

so, I had to tell you all about something I saw today. They had a cell w/ its own shower and yard facility. It was for confining someone for life w/o sunlight or human contact. A judge sentenced a man to never see sunlight again and so they built the setup for that reason. I'm not sure that's really an effective use of tax dollars.

Wow! That's crazy - You would think someone would call that cruel and unusual.

Eww...I'm sure that is unsettling. Is that the same as solitary confinement (stupid question, I know, but....)

Today Bob met me at my house at lunch so that he could bring in a very large split leaf philodendron. I think that plant will be saying "feed me" any time now.

Solitary is generally used as a temporary punishment within the system. this is setup originally for both safety and punishment. Now it is used only fo rsafety (original occupant is long dead of old age). THis is one of three of these type facilities in the fedral system and gets very high profile cases that must be protected from the rest of the population or are deemed so dangerous that no staff ever come into contact with them.

I would love to see a pic of the Philo... I'm a plant dork on top of being a reef dork

Morning Stooges, I want to thank everyone for the well wishes for my sister, as far as i know she's doing OK post surgery, as far as it goes. Without getting into a lot of detail, she was the victim of an assault resulting in 4 or more chest wounds dngerously close to vital areas of the heart. I hope to know more in the morning, but due to the nature of this I may be away a bit more

I spent months on a submarine with no sunlight and had to share a shower with 100 other guys. There was no yard either.

I guess it is against our laws to let things work out the way they did for Jeremy Dahlmer, but there have been times in my life I would have taken a cell with a shower and a yard if meals were included.

Sorry if that was a downer..little hot button was pressed there.
