Good effort, Tom. I think you got the exposure but maybe a focus problem with that lens. It ain't easy shooting at night.
I finally caught a few peeks of it through some of the thinner clouds but never a clear opportunity.

Yes, we get two opportunities in 2010, with a partial and full eclipses. The extended forecast doesn't quite reach out that far but hope it won't be cloudy.

Here my try at it...Tripod and remote shutter, Nikon D80. First pic set on night landscape....Next one in manual mode setting the f-stops myself and using bulb for exposure.....135mm on both exposures...I need a longer lense....This is probably the best I got...Still learning how to use this thing......

Heck, I thought I knew how to use mine until I tried shooting the long lens at night,

I had a little fun trying to get nite shots in the ice storm last week.....now its icing again, so I may bundle up 2nite and try some more....I like playing light and shadow tricks with the exposure settings.....And i need a longer lens Cant wait to try macro after i get my tank running...Mostly I take pics of this

I think I'm going to practice some just plain shots of the moon to see how to get more detail of the lighted surface rather than white blasting out all the lit surface details a night or two this week.
Well. maybe as it warms up and stops raining in the SE...
