This one's for Doug...
Saleen S7
Segment: Supercar/Exotic
Price Range: $580,000
Final Score: N/A
Closest Competitor: N/A
Closest Competitor Score: N/A
This is the wild card of the bunch—nothing much compares. Irvine (Calif.) -based Saleen's S7 proves that supersleek, race-worthy supercars don't all hail from Italy or Germany, or even Detroit. The S7's V8 is a rarity in a land where engines from Ferrari and Lamborghini commonly sport V12s, however, that doesn't stop it from producing an astonishing 750 horses and an absolutely gut-wrenching 700 lb.-ft. of torque. Considering all this performance and all that "bring-it-on" attitude in the flowing body design and smirking front grill is further justified by a 2.8-second 0-60 time. Market-wise, there is no competition, unless you include the M3...

I have a friend.......who goes without saying makes more money than me.........that just recieved his Ferrari. 2 years ago he paid them 120k cash and just last month, paid them another 120 upon receipt.
That car is SWEET!!!! Of course, he could have bought TWO of them and a REALLY big reef tank for what that one costs........
I have another friend who just bought a saleen 'stang. for 62k. Doesnt say mustang anywhere on it. Its pretty sweet too. Hmmm.....all of my friends are richer than me.....in money at least
Funny thing is........although i have totalled about 6 cars in my life they both let me drive their cars......................i was good though...and as far as the totalled car thing....i was younger and stupider once..........

sorry, i have to disagree
dont get me wrong, i LOVE the saleen, but i think the f1 has it beat. and then there is the new contender. it beat the mclaren for the fastest production car every made, (by only 1 mph)
introducing the koenigsegg CCR.
not as sexy imo, but fast!

Nice cars. I just can't see spending so much money on something that may crash and burn, literally.

Speaking of fast cars... I THINK I saw a Ford GT driving down I80. I can't think of any other car I would confuse with it.
But that S7... 2.8 0-60? Geeze I thought that was only possible on the launch pad.

The Saleen is a sweetcar, the aerodynamics make it possible to drive upside down under certatain conditions
I like the Ford Gt, I loved the car as a kid and I am glad to see it back, I would love to have one for rainy days when the Cobra roadster isnt the best choice to drive

One of several on the roads here (Upstate SC) spotted on both I-85 and I-26 as high speed cruisers.

Hrmm...wonder if anyone can zoom in a little on the emblem on the fender right behind the front drivers tire on that white police car. Could be mud or a bug or something though.

Hah! Those cars are for novices! Bugatti (I think) came out with a 1000hp supercar! Does 250 and the engine is two Audi V-8s basically welded together. If an Ferrari F-1 passes the bugatti and the F-1 is going 120MPH and the Bugatti is going 0MPH, the Buggati will hit 200 before the F-1. They said that there wasnt much to say about the breaks, they said if youre going that fast, by the time you realize there is an obsticle, you have flew through the windshield, crashed through the Pearly gates and would be skidding across Gods breakfast table!
The aerodynamics were a problem due to the speeds the car does. They started to try and make it faster. They started by trying to make the mirrors smaller. bad move. The car goes so fast that the mirrors were helping helping keep the car on the ground with the down force they provided!!!!!!!! THE MIRRORS!!!!!!!
Its a cool 1.2 million!!!!!!!
I WANT ONE!
