The ID poem

I went to the store and purchased rock

8 dollars a pound ..What a crock
A weird looking thing I did find
a weirld looking thing of some kind

I called on my good buddy doug
what was thing thing with the ugly old mug
He gave me some long latin name
if he thinks i understand it I think he's insane

I called dear Alice
who's advice comes with out malice.
she said it was neat and looked very cool
she said it looked like something her kid brought home from school

So Spanky was my next stop
Who's knowledge I am told is over the top
I asked him in his scientific manner if he could tell me what it was
He said it was a red blob all covered in fuzz

I figured if anyone would know it would be Dick
Who is known on IDing so quick
He said it was a tough one as was the case
but couldnt tell me now for Bubba was in a race.

I called old john in Montana
who recently slipped on a banana
I asked him what could this be
but all he said is that it would look good on his tree

I called good Tom in Wellford
who's prowess is well know to this board
I said what is it Mr. Wyatt
He said I am not sure but put it on the barbi and we will fry it

I tried the knowledgable Gallion
who some say is hung like a stalion
I asked and asked for a phone number I could nab
But who really knows where he keeps the secret lab

So now my search I will end
Not another minute will I spend
not a moment in my tank will this critter see
For in the sump it will always be.

Ok I spent to much time with the kids helping them do thier poetry home work
