NEVER!!!
Two GREEN BEANS are walking down the road together, they have been best friends since they were just little sprouts attending Green Giant's Boarding School for the Overtly Green. One of the two beans slips over the edge of the curb and falls into moving traffic where he is run over by a transfer truck. He is immediately taken to the nearest trauma center by helicopter where he is quickly evaluated, then taken directly to surgery. It is touch and go, BP bottoms out, recovers, then drops out again. Renal function shuts down without perfusion, and his output is so low that there is much concern about his brain function. The surgery goes on for hours, many units of blood and fluids administered to counteract the shock from his exsanguinations. The other bean paces back and forth in the waiting room, worried sick about the prognosis for his sprouthood friend.
Finally one of the trauma nurses come out and is followed by the surgeon. He looks up and sees the Bean, comes over to him, and tells him, "I have good news, and I have bad news..."
"Give it to me straight, Doc," says the bean, "I can take it."
The surgeon looks at the bean for a second, then slowly begins. " The good news is, that I think your friend will survive this terrible event, although slowly over a long recovery..." There is an awkward moment of silence, then the surgeon looks the surviving bean in the eye and says...
"...but he'll always be a vegetable."

So, can I stop ignoring this thread now?
This thread is reminding me of that song that is about a song going on and on..
This is the thread that never ends...
It just goes on and on my friend...
I don't remember the rest of it. (Thank goodness)

This is the song that never ends,
yes it goes on and on my friend.
Some people started singing it, not knowing what it was,
and they'll continue singing it forever just because...
