Take the time...
..to call that friend or family member that you've been meaning to call for the last few weeks or months. Don't put it off like I did. One of my very best friends passed away, she died of a brain anuerism (sp). She was only 41 years old. Janell and her husband John have three beautiful daughters and I know the whole family is still in shock right now. I know I am.
Janell lit up the room when she walked in, full of life. Only 5' tall but you never overlooked her She and I have been friends for 25 years. I was remembering some of the silly things, like teaching her to drive and how to change a tire. Her wedding when Janell's aunt and I had her screaming with laughter by singing a duet of "The Rodeo Song." (Very late in the festivities, I might add )
We were there for each other in good times and bad times and I loved her. I kept meaning to call her, get together.
Please keep her family in your prayers right now and please, please, take the time to make some phone calls this weekend.
Alice

Alice,
Please consider my thoughts and prayers are with you and your friend's family. I know all too well the pain of losing someone dear to you. Just remember, you are never alone; something all of us tend to forget in times of sorrow and loss.

Thank you friends, for the kind replies. I will be sure to pass on to Janell's family that my "other family" is keeping them in their prayers.
I think that rather than sending a bouquet of flowers I will bring a big bag of early spring bulbs-crocus, daffodils, hyacinth and the like-and offer to come help John and the girls plant them in a week or so.
Alice

Even though we will miss them, our family and friends have graduated to eternity. What a glorious day that will be , when my Jesus I will see. You and her family will certainly be in my prayers.
The bulbs are a great idea. One of the things I cherish most is a rhododendron bush that a friend gave me when my Dad went to be with the Lord. Every time I see it I think of my Dad and my friend.
This year I started a new habit. When I see things that remind me of family or friends I buy it and give it to them the very next time I see them. I figure why wait until Christmas, there's no guarantee any of us will be there. I also have been taking quiet time each day to pray for those I love, I used to do it...but not every day.
Find your comfort in the Lord and get hugs from His servants any time you can, they sure do feel good.
God Bless
Jacqui

Alice even though I have never met you, I consider you a very close friend. I have not posted much lately but dealing with personal issues in my life and trying to cope with it! I am very sorry to hear of your loss because friends are so important when we need them and when one leaves us it can be a lonely feeling!
If you wish to talk to me just PM with your phone number and will be glad to call ya up! You are in my prayers and Pat sends hers as well! God bless! Johnny

Thanks for your thoughts and prayers The funeral was Monday and it was hard. So many people though, she was well loved! The church was packed and we shared some wonderful memories of her.

Alice- You are quite right about calling up folks you love. As a matter of fact, I did just that last weekend. Some of my in-laws are really going through serious health battles.
My love to you, Alice, an to Janell's family. I know that your presence gave them comfort.
