Is that a bristleworm emerging from the baby in the first pic?

The baby in the last pic looks like he is sporting an 80's rock star hair style.

Ha! Yeah, I can just imagine how a bristle worm would feel in some poor bird's mouth!! E-Yuck!

Yep - the punk hair-do -- his mama is crested, and he inherited it from her. If you breed two cresteds together, you end up with bald babies. Not a good thing. Never seen it, either.

Were did you purchase the parakeets? I have never seen any with such awesome color!

They are Bourke's Parakeets -- different from the American 'keets or English Budgies. We found Kilroy at the age of 8 wks in Delphi, IN, and the papa in Lexington, KY. No, we did not drive to Lexington!
