Does anyone know why it is called Hoosier pass? Hoosier is what people in Indiana are called. Surely it wasn't a dude from Indiana that made it over the continental divide.

I just want to know why their called hoosiers
the best I can piece together is
when 2 wagons would approach each other, the drivers would yell "who's there?"
the Indiana accent was so bad that it came out "hoosier"

Did I ever tell you about the time Brasky went hunting? Well anyway, Brasky decides he's gonna hunt down all four members of the Banana Splits. He stalks and kills every one of them with a machete. They all beg for their lives, except Fleagul.

Well that was a waste of an hour, but finally dug this up:
Hoosier Pass, named for nearby Hoosier Gulch which was worked by prospectors from Indiana
