so we bought a new house and......

we closed on a new (slightly used) house last week
then we got hit with 10" of rain over the weekend
I should realy specify that it rained for 24 hours straight

this is as of 6pm tonight

then the demolition started

after the carpet came up, the tile floor under started to pop off

and as of 10pm tonight

I can hardly wait for the insurance adjuster to show up
then I may tear out the walls and the bar

lucky for us, the base of operations is still at our old house
only structure damage
and some movie posters

as far as I can tell, the water level was up to about 6"

That's just awful to have that happen before you even get moved in, KIA! Hope everything dries out ok.

Man that sucks but dont expect insurance to help much...

I had the same thing in January and my agent said that "water seepage" from rain was not covered by ANY insurance company and that "seepage" was not even coverd be flood insurance.... unless it was desiginated as a flood in your area....I hope you make out better than I did. It all came out of my pocket.

that sucks
we are designated as a flooded area
and we also are not in a flood plane
I was told my insurance covers up to 10k
