I broke a friends coffee table a couple years back so I apparently still haven't learned. They had me over because they were sure they had a mantis. I looked at the tank, saw a rock with broken snail shells near a hole in the rock and knew they were correct. I put a prawn right outside the den and when it came out to grab the prawn, I just quickly nabbed the mantis with my hand. My friend was not expecting to be looking at a mantis face-to-face in a period of about two seconds and backed up very fast and landed on his coffee table.
It was hilarious.

my first house we I bought, my kids were 6 when we moved in
they wanted to have apple tree's badly
"Dad , can we get an apple tree? pleeeeeeesaaaaasssseeee"
So I broke down, did some research,
did you know that you need 2 apple trees to cross pollinate and get actual apples.
So we went out, they both picked out an apple tree to plant (no seedling here)
we picked 2 3-year old saplings to start our apple orchard
(about $50/piece)
we planted them as a family, watered them
made sure they got enough light
then I came home one day to my kids playing "Kingdom" in the back yard
they both had crowns they made, big robes, and septures
I was amazed that
1. 6 year olds made these costumes
2. they used the word septure
then I realized that the septures were actually our 2 apple trees that they pulled out of the ground

LOL
I never in a million years would suspect that you did some of those things as a kid.

OMG! I just came out of the master bedroom (after chasing the 2 yr old) and walked into the livingroom to find the 3 1/2 yr old sitting in her father's office chair with a bizarre look on her face and her eyes watering like crazy!
I asked her what was wrong and in a broken voice said, "I ate one of Daddy's peanuts. It's super spicy!"
I looked up onto the top shelf of his desk and there was the tin with the lid off. I looked to see what kind of peanuts they were, figuring probably BBQ or similar, but discovered they are Wasabi and Soy Sauce Almonds.
Wish I could have gotten to a camera faster! The facial expression was hilarious!

My brother had a project in first grade, he's a member here hope he don't see this. His project was to draw and color his favorite fruit. He turned in a blank piece of paper with his name. When he was asked about it he stated it was an orange but it looked so good he ate it.
