Amy, just two tragedies.......I lost my best friend 33 years ago, BUT, I was LUCKY enough to have had a BEST FRIEND! He was lucky enough to not be FORGOTTEN!
When a child dies before his parents, it is the toughest thing you will ever face. HOWEVER, we have to raise them to make wise decisions and trust them. In the long run, the same rules apply to children as to all of us....Consequences of our actions.
He died of a drug overdose.....the result of bad choices. As your children get older, you will be AMAZED how different children from the same gene pool can be!

I paniked and hit the pedal I thought was the brake (it was the clutch)

or when I got my first BB gun
I thought I was slick
I practiced all the time in the basement with it, and became a good shot (for a 12 year old)
the my sister came down the stairs to pick on me for something
distracted me, I shot
hit the cement bricks,
the BB ricocheted and hit her in the eye
(just like Christmas Story)
I was afraid I me parents would take my gun away
(but happy it hit her, don't tell, she was very mean to me)

I do get out that way from time to time. I will be there in June for sure. Possibly sooner. I'd love to see it.
