What kind of siding Tim? assuming its niot color fast vinyl, my recommendation would be to rent or buy a pressure washer, spray the hell outta it , then reprimer it amd repaint.
Or pay the BIG BUCKS to have vinyl siding installed over it]

Ditto what Doug said , Tim. I have steel siding on my casa, hated the color from the first day i moved in, and after as few years if complaining about it,,,i cleaned it , and repainted it a new color,,,and after 5-6 yrs, still looking good, and holding up well . just gotta clean/prep it well, and use paint that is made for alum/steel siding,,,
Also, dunno if it works for the non vinyl siding stuff, but they say if you change color of tthe siding, do not go darker than what you have originally, due to the darker color being affected by heat/sun, and causing expansion of the siding section,,,warping etc.

Dont skip on the primer it helps seal the old paint in and secure the new paint onto the siding. My house is concrete block and the primer worked very well. My last house I cheated and I lost the battle and had to repaint because of it....lol
