Show us your garden 2008
Well instead of living in a flat in a 16 million dollar mansion like last year it is the patch o'stuff in the back of our townhouse this summer. I'll post the rest of the last few days effort tonight, but here are the before shots.
We went to Home Depot to buy a bag of soil to plant bare root plants and look what happened.
Here is the shot of our canvas
And I need to do something now with all this stuff (and get a tan...sorry about that)

Anyone know why the pictures are so puny now. I tried to paste in all three options from the member gallery and this was all that worked. (the BB image code one)

Looks like a great start Perry!
If you click on the picture it will open it larger. That works for me!
As for the tan .. don't feel bad. I live in Florida and only have a tan on my arms and face. Maybe you should have gone skiing in your shorts and a tshirt? LOL j/k

Got a week coming up starting Friday in Georgia to work on that Louise.
I just uploaded the after pictures, but they are still working on the update and I know the gallery is having a few problems. Everything looked great but when I was showing my buddy how to babysit the nano I showed him the garden and the hose to the control box was ruptured and we had four inches of water out there.
Hopefully I can post a few more before the plane leaves Friday morning.
Also Kelly, it is supposed to possibly snow tomorrow, which is probably a direct result of tempting fate and planting early.

I have built a couple boxes for the raised beds for tomatoes and zuke, a few other things, not sure what yet, pics in a thread from sunday, prolly the good morning thread. Still gotta come up with dirt to fill em. Prolly do a dump run this weekend, someone around the corner from my daughters in town has a pile of free dirt, hopefully its still theer, might have to work that and add a lot of compost from the Rancho

Alrighty a little frost while we were gone but the watering system worked so only about five losses total.
We planted the rest of the herb garden and installed bubblers on all the pots off a trunk line from the auto system.
Then got the bare root in. All of this stuff is from Holland and if it comes in great. It looked like a box of roots so who knows. A gnome appeared as well close to the vent to the basement for a quick exit if necessary.
I apologize again for no tan and grossing everyone out but here is the front porch with another line to water these things.
Cynthia was pooped from all the work. A shot of rum, fresh fruit, a couple of ounces of red wine and the rest ginger ale in a glass seemed to sedate her.
We have one last section to go then this is finished.

I should get pics of the flower beds and wine barrel planters I got roped into helping with while redoing her living room project, and I promised pics of the kitties, hapilly the problem one seems to have its eyes cleared up and fine, I suspect they will be out runnin amok real soon, when do they need kitty chow, mom spends less time with them now( almost 5 weeks old as I recall) and when do they need their kitty shots

Great garden work, Perry.
Can't wait to see progress in Doug's and Kelli's gardens. Progress reports on anyone else?
Now I'm inspired.

Doug Cynthia said at 5-6 weeks feed the kittens mushed up food, or they have something called KMR which is kitten milk replacement.
If you give all the shots at once it makes the kittens sick so get a distemper at 8 weeks, then a couple of shots at 12 weeks then the rest at 16 weeks. If they are outside kitties get them feline leukemia as well. I lost a cat to a slow AIDS type death from this.
Well the garden watering system ruptured a second hose to the solenoid box. There were two six inch floods from these. I bought a stainless steel braided washing machine hose this time. Gotta keep my sprinkler system up to the same technology as the tank.
We have a planter cart and a few more color bowls to do this weekend then finally the garden is done. All of our neighbors have just two resin chairs and a BBQ in their courtyard and keep looking at ours. Maybe this will motivate some of them.
Doug, did anyone mention that you are overdue for some pictures?
