Sad Day

Yesterday while I was at work My husband called to tell me one of my birds a green cheek conure Lindsey had died. He seemed ok before I went to work but by noon he had passed away. He would have been 9 in October. I have had him since he was 10 weeks old. I am still very upset as he showed no signs of being ill and he was not that old for this type of bird. Sorry for such a sad post but I have come to feel that everyone here is a friend of mine even though we have never met. Kelli

I am so very sorry to hear this ... and you are right, we are here for you.

I hope you and your family and Lindsey feel wrapped up in our love and support. I've lost more than a couple birds myself, and it is never ever easy, and time doesn't make it easier... I'm just so sorry.

I hope you'll share on BoF, or maybe you have and I missed it, but you'll find much support there, too, with a lot of understanding.

I'm so sorry to hear about this.Your right about not being old.I had a bird that a freind took care of when I went on Vaction.He died a day after I got back, found out he took him out in the rain and caught a cold and never saw signs either.I think there kind of like Rabbits, hard to see signs when sick!So sorry Hope you deside on anougher one!It's the best way to cope.None will replace him but the new one will have it's on things about him!Just lost two rotties within 3 monthes of each other and one month later got a new puppy(Rottie) which is 3 1/2 months old today.And there isn't a day I miss my other too,but this one brings happinest too!

Thanks all I appreciate your support. Eventually I will get another bird. I'm going to hold off right now with a toddler and the reef tank. I don't feel I could devote enough time and attention to a baby bird. Some day I hope to have a male Eclectus or a Hahns Macaw.
