resolutions & simple pleasures?

Last year I did a good job with my resolution to cut down on fast food; the first three months of the year I never stopped once, and maybe went, in all honesty, about 20 times total for the year.

This year I resolved to settle down. I get too stressed too easily, and I tend to complain when I'm unhappy.... gotta knock that off! So I'm going to make an effort to not complain (as much) and to try to find the bright side of things. It'll be good for my heart and overall health so it'll be a win/win!

What have you resolved, and have you stuck to them?

Also, I was thinking of simple pleasures and wondered what little things made you happy? Today I put on a brand new pair of socks... I love brand new squishy plush socks, and I tell Kevin that if we ever hit it big I'm going to have a brand new pair of socks every day! What simple little thing makes you happy?

I gave up on crappy bars and crappy women a few months back. It is working for me so far, and have a keeper now.

I never thought about that. I like it.

I badly need to lose weight and start taking better care of myself. The older I get the more these bad habits take thier toll on me. Too many of my customers over the last 8 years have died at a relatively young age.

I'm in the same boat; although, its only and extra 15-18lbs. So I've started walking in the evening. I started doing this back in Decemeber so it isn't really a new years resolution.

Simple pleasures

The smell of fresh cut grass.
The smell/sound of rain(hooray for thuinderstorms).

I LOVE new socks!

I started running last summer, and although I haven't lost a bleeping ounce, I do feel better. I also don't have to resolve to exercise more. I had actually kind of given up on that, so am surprised I started and have stuck with it. Of course, now I'm wondering how many miles before I have to replace the shoes.

I also love mangos, and the Mango Lassi is the best way to enjoy them. (Mango pulp + couple spoonfuls vanilla yogurt + sprinkle of sugar, blended with ice cubes. Yum!) So I resolve to eat more mangos.

I'm still trying to battle clutter, so I had adopted my sister's mindset and tryto minimize "stuff." I'm getting there.

I'm also trying to spend more time outside. Life is too short, and my backyard is a glorious sanctuary - so I am trying to enjoy it.

More simple pleasures:
Bubble baths. (with a mango lassi, even better!)
Opening a new box of cereal, so all the big clusters of goodies are at the top (think Honey Bunches of Oats)
Strawberries.
Listening to birds call in the morning.
A cat in the lap, a dog at the feet (and one in the lap, and one on the couch, and one...)
Newly laundered sheets.

Ah... I think I need a bubble bath.

oh yes, thunderstorms and clean sheets........

....... clean sheets that were hanging out on the line before a thunderstorm.... oooooh yeaahhhh... !

dogs.

birds in the morning is ok, but hearing a turkey let loose gobbling when you're out in the woods that early in the morning is awesome! Definitely a pleasure!

Fun! We need more!

I need to learn to be more patient. And (surprising or not) I share many of the simple pleasures mentioned above.
