Just needed to rant away from my normal forum, since it was on there that this happened -_-

So I found that article a couple days ago and posted it on a forum where I know a lot of people have dogs of all sizes. Also posted a bit saying that while I don't agree with mandatory spay/neuter programs(not that I want to have an intact dog, but I know some people do for various reasons, and as long as you are a responsible dog owner and don't let your pet roam everywhere I don't see anything wrong with it.) that someone shouldn't get an animal knowing they won't ever be able to(was in response to the part of the article where it said that some owners can't afford it.). And some lady started saying that her mom just recently got onto disability and that she can't afford it for their 7 year old dog now since it about broke her to get him caught up on shots as was, and that I'm a horrible person for saying that she doesn't deserve to be able to own him anymore. Eh? When did I say that? So I posted again trying to clarify saying that while I understand that someone may fall under hard times, they don't deserve to own their pet any less, but that I don't like people who get an animal knowing that you won't be able to care for it. And was once more told that I was being unreasonably harsh.
READ THE POST!!!!!!! I ended up overcoating myself stating that someone should not get an animal if they know from the start that they won't be able to get anything but the cheapest garbage brand dog food out there and not even be able to pay its legally required shots, let alone spaying/neutering, or(worse imo) EMERGENCY vet care if the dog gets attacked/hurt somehow. I wasn't saying that someone who gets fired when their company gets shut down should have animal control beat their doors down and haul off their pets at gunpoint -_- There's a HUGE difference between getting a pet when you are making more than enough money to care for your family and your pet and then losing your job versus seeing an ad for free puppies and getting one because you can't afford to pay a good breeder to buy one, and know that you will just dump the poor thing on the side of the road to die if it ever HAS to go to a vet's office for medical care since you can't even afford its shots. I have seen a lot of posts(there, though they are nicer than other forums I've seen the same situation on) telling people that if they can't afford medical care NOW they shouldn't have taken it in to begin with("if you can't afford the vet you can't afford the pet" comes to mind from THAT forum), and they never seem to be attacked for it? I NEVER said that someone "doesn't deserve their dog now that they are poor" I just said that is irresponsible to take in a living creature if you have Prior Knowledge that you will be unable to take care of it properly.
Sorry about the rant. It's just that it's a pet peeve of mine when someone takes something that is said/written, twists it so it is completely out of context and then makes a scene over it. Ugh.
