Question for plant experts
I have a Hibiscus that is dropping buds before they reach maturity. It has done this in the past but never to this extent. I'm losing almost all of them. I water twice a day on really hot days and once a day on cooler days. I use Miracle Grow with every watering.
Any suggestions?
TIA

You're fortunate that you don't have a whitefly infestation. Here in ventura county, so cal it's a major MAJOR concern since we are a very ag driven cnty. Most of the strawberries grown in the US, major citrus, plus 80% of the avocados. No more guac at this rate.

After reading some of the links in the link Casey posted I started inspecting the buds with a magnafying glass but I didn't see any critter that I thought could be responsible for this. The bad part is that the plant is already way behind schedule this year. I've only had one flower on it all summer and just started getting buds about a week ago.

Rick do you have other ones doing that also? It might just be an unhealthy one.

No. I lost the other one this winter. This is a potted plant. Our winters are too cold for them to be inground.

Native GA? My neighbor has one and it's huge. I still want a large containered flowering plant for this particular location and I love the large red flowers the hibiscus produces.
Do you have hibiscus Casey? Let's see some pics.

How do I know when I buy them if they are native to GA? I would like to keep some in the ground.
I think my neighbors is a Hydranga and not a Hibiscus.
