Puter help?
Running Win 98 SE , last night puter was working normally when I shut it down for the night, actually did restart, came in this am like I do ALOT and typed in my windows passward, it said
DENIED
Any suggestions to fix this, buying a new one isn't do able at the moment

Did you check to make sure you didn't have the caps lock on?

that and make sure the logg in name is right some times they are case senistive..
also try putting in no password..

Yes had a half cup before trying to log an and more coffee didnt help

I have been using that password for 6 yrs now, yes I spelled it right 
bypassing the windows password gets me to a more basic version of Winblows, using IE, it's like waking up in hell

Dedicated line like DSL, ISDN or Cable? Do you have a firewall?

dedicated in the sense that its for the puter only, I live 20+ mi from town , other than sat dialup is only option here

LOL...guilty as charged, but only with MS. I haven't learned UNIX or LINUX yet.

Doug... what computer do you have? What is the processing speed? Amount of RAM? Those kind of things. If you can't upgrade you sytstem, maybe you can upgrade your OS.

I have all pentiums anyways,I think my problem is my linksys router.

Dell optiplex 400mhz
20 gig HD 512 RAM
I have seen XP and I am not impressed
to much foo foo for what I need a puter for

Understand but it's far more stable than Win 98... you should consider upgrading to 2000 or XP.
