pulling carpet fun

Today was the day to pull the carpet in my living room. First, though, my sister (Bobbi) and I had to move ...umm...stuff around, and do some serious organizing before we could move that stuff out of the LR. A former co-worker (Nancy) and her 9 year old daughter (Ramsey) came over. Nancy was a huge help.

Looks like reefin' equipment scattered here and there

VERY NICE!!!! Why would anyone want to cover up those hardwood floors with carpet? It looks almost like a brand new room! Good work!

cath why'd you leave the carpet under the stand? are you telling me you four didnt have the gumption to move the tank too?

i would have thought it would have been the perfect day to drain the tank, move it, tear up the carpet, move the tank back into place....and CLEAN THE GLASS

seriously though great job ya'all. those floors look really nice!! i have always loved the LOOK of hardwood floors. but i am guilty of throwing carpet over them too. i dont like the feel of hardwood floors, or tile, on my feet, specially on a cold winter morning. even my kitchen and bathroom have carpeting.

but yours sure looks nice!! musta been a fun day, i see you doing all the work. nancy's just posing away or is that bobbi?

Thanks for all the positive remarks, everyone.

Hehehehe, Jay...I mighta known that you'd say that about the carpet under the tank. Bobbi was really worried that the whole thing would fall over when Nancy was cutting the carpet behind the tank.

Actually, Nancy did the lion's share work. She weighs the least, but is by far the strongest. You shoulda seen us use those tools to rip up the boards with carpet tacks on them.

I'm really excited about the home improvement at my house. I'll post more as it goes along

PS...I don't like cold floors either, Jay. That's why I wear slippers.

Wow, Cath! That's beautiful! I would love to have hardwood floors again! What did you have to do to restore the floor? Or was it that beautiful under the carpet?

Beautiful room!
