protesters
there are plenty of government issues and topics i disagree with.i have battled the legitimacy of this war in my own conscious, but i came to the realization that no matter what my opinions or feelings were, as long as my military leaders had come to this conclusion (war). i have to trust there educated judgement better than my own. more importantly as long as our troops are being shot at and risking there lives for my freedom and the freedom of the iraqi people. I better drop my doubts and stand behind my country, my military leaders and the fighting men in iraq. When this war is over with i can protest , and shout my opinions in the middle of the street. now is not the time for it.I'm disgusted an appalled that so called AMERICANS COULD CLAIM TO SUPPORT OUR TROOPS BUT CAUSE UNREST IN THIS COUNTRY AT THIS TIME. SHUT UP TILL THE WARS OVER. JMO

They should contribute all of that time and money their wasting to a better cause. Perhaps the government could napalm some rain forest or something to distract them untill the war is over

I am trying to keep and open mind about this, but one thing I notice from growing up in the 60's The Amrican Communist Party still throws big parties.
All I have to say to those who feel that this country is so evil , try some of the more progressive places

As a military man, Wasabi, that was the greatest post I've ever read. There's nothing wrong with disagreeing with leadership, but as you said, the's a time and place for it. I wish everyone expressed your views the way you just did. Thanks.

Wohoooooo I agree no matter what your feeling on the war Stand behind the folks fighting. I have very strong feelings about the protestors but wont voice it here

Here, here. Thank all the vets for our freedom to speak, but support them in the time of need, no matter how you feel.
The alternative is go live there. I have. Thanks, I'll stay here and support MY government.

i support our american troops. i pray for their safety, as well as for the innocents that are in harms way.
but, i will not be quite if i have a concern as to "why" we went to war. it is my right to protest peacefully. i learned to repect the rights of others when they voice thier opinions, i understand why they protest against war, and i understand why they support the action taken by the coalition forces.
me? i just want peace.

I cried today over the news, seriously. It breaks my heart to hear about anyone dying, but even more so for this war and the soldiers whose life has ended in such a place as the deserts of Iraq. Peace be with them and all those to follow.
That is why many don't want war, because death is the inevitable consequence. It is blessed thing to speak for peace just as it is honorable to fight for what you believe in - whatever it may be. Our soldiers will always be honored past and present, it is the politics that I do not honor.

Ok, maybe I'm mean..
Whenever I see a group of anti-war protesters, I counter-attack. I scream "GO HOME AND WRITE THANK-YOU LETTERS TO THE TROOPS! FOOLS!!!!"
I can't say if I agree with the war or not, because I'm really not sure.
But I do know that no matter how clever your picket sign is, and no matter how hard you beat your peace drum, we're still having a war. It's just a fact, deal.
I really don't like Bush for many reasons, but I didn't vote for him, so I don't take it personally. |
