Praying Mantis' in Oregon?????????

I remember playing with alot of praying mantis while growing up in Vermont!

I never realized how wide spred they were. I had one on my front door once. Huge green one. I believe there is a fine (at least in NE) for killing them. Pretty cool, and pretty scary, too.

They make great fish bait.. When I was a kid we would go in the shallows of the river and dig through the rocks to find the larvae. Smallmouth bass just love them.

We have both green and brown ones here in the Gorge. Not sure if they are different or just change color to blend in. And they can blend in!
