prayers of support needed
The son of one of my co-workers was badly injured a little more than a week ago while in Iraq. He's finally home, has had surgery, but his leg may never be right again. Though he is physically healing, his emotional status is not good at all right now. He's used to being up and at 'em and involved and now he can't. May never be able to.
Please keep him in your prayers. Many thanks.

Hi Cath,
I almost lost my arm in a motorcycle wreck when I was on Subs. My doctor's advice was to get out of the hospital and hit the gym, and if it meant using those 2 lb. girl weights keep on going. This guy was an inspiration, and he was a Navy SEAL with tons of trauma experience. I lost 60 lbs. following the trauma and that doctor got me from being a vegetable to getting going again.
I will work on the prayers, but getting this guy back on the horse and driven to be mobile has value that is impossible to explain. If he was a serviceman then he will have an inner spirit and focus and overcome all but the worst obstacles. This is probably an opinion contrary to most, but try to get him moving and fired up and give him a purpose as soon as the doctors let him.
If you guys are doing anything for this guy PM me so I can send over a little to help. If there are any volunteers from VFW or something that can talk to him about this though mano y mano that can help. Some raggedy grizzled old vet might be the right sort to get him back into sorts. I am crappy at crafting words and this probably came out as callous, but men are funny about their pride.

Thanks so much, guys! Right now I don't know what all is being done for him, but I'll find out and get back in touch. He is indeed a serviceman, I think a Marine. Perry, I do understand what you're saying about the man to man thing and about men's pride. Your words are not callous at all. You are speaking from the heart of a man, especially one who's served our country.
LR, my heart goes out to you for your losses and to your relative that is a Marine. Times like these really are difficult at holiday time.
