I'm a (greedy, money grubbing, evil)
LFS owner
In preparation for this interesting career choice I've been:
A Sandwich Maker (for Mr. Submarine)
A switchboard operator (one ringy-dingy -- just like Lily Tomlin - same type of antique equipment too!)
A telephone order-taker at courier company
Dispatcher's assistant/troubleshooter
Hired/Fired Courier drivers, outfitted them with equipment, training etc.
Rating clerk (I priced all the courier delivery bills - 1200/day)
Then I became a MOM....and...
Day Care Provider (for other kids, not just my own)
Waitress/Dishwasher/Toilet Scrubber (in that order!)
Sausage Salesperson at home shows (ROFL! One of my weirder jobs, but one of the most fun, and most profitable!)
Delivered Phone Books
Grocery Store Cashier
Golf Course Attendant
Income Tax Preparer
LFS grunt worker
Hey, I'm still the LFS grunt worker
Somewhere between Sandwich Maker and Phone Order Taker, I became an aquarium hobbyist
When the kids were babies, they were with least one parent at all times - so I worked whatever jobs I could, in off-hours when Scott was home with the babies. Those were some lean and stressful years... but all that cornucopia of jobs really prepared me to own my own business - because each job taught me a skill or skills that I would find useful later on.
Life can be funny like that...
