Poetry anyone??

I wrote this poem about the beach. Hope you like it

Today, I Am

Not today I am: the weather is right and the earth is warm,

with God’s omniscient glow under my toes.

And the stench of that cancer growing in my chest

puts a sea lion down with one-shot-to-the-head.

Touching my heels they sing to the clouds,

because 7 a.m. can wake up the dead.

And a cool breeze once seduced my face.

but not today, at least; not today.

The frigid air kisses the slave and marks upon skin

and comes out of my chest an angel with gray wings.

And seashells crack from under my feet

cut into my skin, and I shrink.

I have made a crimson path to the sea

and my eyes walk the trail.

Where silence is disturbing and

the sharks drink my blood.

The End........

Actually, I wrote this poem a couple of weeks ago about this one chick that just totally broke my heart (you know how that goes) when I was younger. Well anyways, even though I was severely depressed and heartbroken, I went surfing in the mornings. I am not exactly sure how I did it and why, but I did. I turned it in to my writing teacher and instead of returning it, he kept it for himself. I guess he said it was pretty good!!!?? Well anyways, I love the ocean and my advice to anyone, if you are having problems, just go to the beach early in the morning. It is very peaceful and can relax you. I live in morro bay, so I just have to walk about 1/4 a mile down to the beach. The beach is really cold and the mornings are like ice.

Ahhh...the surf cleansed you! I don't have a surf nearby, but there are different kind of cleansing places here.... even if it's in your mind's eye as you walk ..

Sounds to me like your teacher liked your poem, and so do I, fwiw.

Excellent job!!! There is something so powerful about the water... when i use to live by Virginia Beach i would get off of work at 3 am and just spend acouple hours on the beach by myself and watch ships go by and watch the waves.... That is one thing that i do miss about not having the ocean near me.... Lakes are nice too, and gosh i have alot of those around.... but it still isn't the same!!!

I think it has alot to do with reef keeping to. There is something soothing about watching your reef. Just like if you have ever just swam to the bottom of a swimming pool and just stayed there for a while. Very peaceful. BTW, I can hold my breath for 3 minutes 30 seconds. Serious!

hahaha, you know what your right! poetry is not going to help me slay a dragon. WoW, HERE I COME!!!!!!!! wait a minute.....why don't we combine the 2??? eh-hem....

today will be the longest of my life,
world of warcraft comes out today at midnight.
But I will wake up early at 8 am about,
and get to best buy before it sells out.
And then sit through my classes so anxiously
can't wait to install it on windows XP.....
And play all day with with a team just of us
Ill be a dwarf, with the name "detritus".

The End.....

That's more like it, but if I might be so bold as to add a line or two...

With a NAKED dwarf chick by my side, it will be great
I guess her name will have to be "skimate"

Great poetry, but I would advise looking at a girl dorf before you do that. That sort of character has been accused of drinking quite a bit, and my job in the game is to gently steer you towards an elf or something. Imagine a female version of Gildoarf in the Lord of the Rings movie and you shall see my point. Your soulmate should really lack severe facial hair, though dwarves excel at mining and in battle.

Detritus is a very fine name though and I hope to see you about. Only 7 hours left till the game is released. We are working furiously on establishing the guild and within four or five days will have things ready with one that is based on nothing but honor.
