please help me post pictures with new computer

I got a new computer and cannot post pictures now. It says i have included too many images or something, when I only put one which is the smallest I can get it (3x3 inches). I use thumbsplus 3.0 for my imaging software and resize to 640x480 (pixels I guess??) and when I click on properties it only says file size 19503. I tried saving as jpeg with paint and that did not help either (which used to work with my old computer).

thanks.

I think you are over the limit for size by just a little. If you look in the photography forum there is a guide on posting there and also a couple of links to resize your pictures.

You might be able to trim a little out and get them small enough or else follow the directions to an editor to change the density. Also, jpg is the way to go and the smallest file size compared to a bmp or other graphic style.

The 640 by 480 is a size used on old small monitors and I am not sure if it is directly related to your file size for photos. It was the full screen size back when there were 14 inch monitors.

Erin any luck with your pic problem, I use a different program for pics but I save them at about 640x480 and set the quality at 75% for posting and email. I always save as jpeg, but I dont know squat about other programs, so hope it works out
