PC to a MAC

I'm looking for a new PC again. Working in the IT field I'm very familiar with what I want and what is available in the PC world, but I have considered getting a Mac several times and have ALWAYS backed out. I used an old mack about 10 years ago and it was awkward to get familiar with.

Now that I am in need of a new laptop, I am looking at the Macbook Pro.

Those of you that are Mac users please help me out here.

What are the big pros and cons of Macs?

If you've had a PC before, what would you buy next time around?

Hey, Scruffy-

The Mac way of puters if my preference, so I have that at home. I use a PC at work. I'm not much of a puter geek, so my technical expertise on either platform is rather basic What I do know is that Macs are a much more stable environment, and are not as likely to be attacked by viruses.

The best technical info you can get is from Geoff. He is the Mac geek at at major university in NC. Very helpful all the way around.

PM him to get more details.

Thanks Cath and Amy!

I'll get a hold of Geoff as soon as I get a chance. I think I have been putting this off for too long now. Cost always got me.

Once you go Mac, you never go back. It's a superior computer. If you find yourself needing Windows, you can still run it through Boot Camp or Parallels. Macs have a higher resale value, too.

I agree, but they have come a long way.

There is even a Windows emulator so it fools you into thinking you are on a PC.
