PC as Home Theater???

I've thought about turning my PC into a home theater system for our bedroom. I've got a good video card with an "s" video TV out, and figure all I'll need is a good video card, and speakers. Has anyone else ever done this route, and if so, how did it turn out? I hate the idea of buying another reciever for the bedroom, plus, the sound will help gaming as well.

Why not buy a 200 dollar 27 inch tv and a 150 dollar home theater setup from Costco. Upgrade for a couple hundred bucks to a Bose setup or something nice and then move to a really nice flat screen.

Computer monitors are good for checking out TRT or playing Everquest but TV is better on something set up for displaying that. I tried one of those ATI wonder cards and it was sort of like mixing a blender, chopper and food processor in one...just say no.

I wasn't planning on watching the movies on the monitor, just running a cable through jackplates in the wall, to the TV and speakers. I guess I'm not up to having a lot of AV stuff ontop of my dresser...makes me feel like I'm living the single life again....
