Owner Of My Reef Creations Mrc Got Busted
Snellville man arrested after online sex chats
By TIM EBERLY
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Published on: 10/12/07
A Snellville man was arrested Friday afternoon on charges he had online sex chats with an undercover detective posing as a teenage girl, police said.
Police arrested Andrew Diass, 41, who identified himself as a Little League coach, on four counts of sexual exploitation of a child and booked him into the Walton County Jail, Loganville Police Chief Mike McHugh said.

McHugh said the investigation into Diass began in May, when he began communicating with the detective in an online chat room, McHugh said. The detective posed as a 14-year-old girl.
They chatted about five times and, during at least three of those conversations, Diass set up a Web camera, got naked and fondled himself in front of it, McHugh said.
"We could not hear him talk, but you could see him moving," McHugh said.
Diass could not see or hear the detective because he did not use a Web camera, McHugh said.
The chief said Diass never tried to set up a meeting with the detective.
"I think he was under the misconception that if he did not come to meet her that he had not committed a crime," McHugh said. "Which, of course, is incorrect."
Bond has not been set for Diass, who was being held in the Walton County jail Friday night.

i found out about this thru my sister, andy coached her sons baseball team.they are all in shock.my sister has been talking to andys wife through this, no one in the family was aware of any of his perversions.i knew both of them and worked for andy and his wife on many occasions.his wife is a sweetheart.they have two great kids.my sister has a 14 year old daughter so it hit her pretty hard.i told her it would be a great opportunity to sit her down and explain that you never know who you are dealing with.predators can do a great job of hiding their disease.
it real makes you wonder about the intelligence and mindset of criminals or people who are so selfish and self centered that they will do something as rediculous as this.lets see we have sting operations on 20/20,dateline,fox,cnn, duhhhhhhhhhh.and if someone wants to get into this kind of thing you can pay 5 dollars a month to send/recieve your images to about 10 million different online sex sites .lets face it most criminals are idiots.i really feel for the family they dont deserve to go through this

A lot of you are going to dissagree with me, while it may be illegal to do all of that for a 14 year-old girl, it is not illegal in front of a 41 year-old police officer. Though I think low of the people busted in these stings, I don't feel it should be an arrestable offence if the crime has no victim.
I know this is a touchy subject for a lot of people, because of this, say what you want and I will not argue the point. I am stating my personal beliefs on the matter. Parents should be teaching their children about people like this, shame on the parent that doesn't. These stings are entrapment though IMO.

a man who is having a chat with someone about sex and the other partys identify themselves as being 14 years old, who keeps talking about sex and goes on to send nude video feeds of himself in the act, is a man who needs to be taken off the steet.

I both agree and disagree. If it wasnt a police officer it would have been a 14 year old girl, and it would continue to any child he could contact. I think that kind of sting actually has merit as the guy is a predator, even if the crime he was caught at didnt actually hurt anyone.
I dont think we are tough enough on pedophiles myself. I have had more than a couple people close to me hurt when they were young(like many of us ), and I think there should be no mercy. Get caught using marijuana for recreation a couple of times in some states can land you as much or more time in jail than negatively affecting a persons sexuality for life. THATS backwards values IMO.
What I REALLY get a kick out of, is when you see these elaborate stings set up, with a bunch of cops nearby and one cop posing as a drug dealer to bust junkies trying to buy their next fix. Now there is a colossal waste of taxpayers dollars and an embarrassment to police in general.
Way to improve society by arresting a bunch of junkies.

And with that.....Im wondering why this is in GRD??
PS- I never liked my MR-2 skimmer anyway.

Many people know Andy from MRC, know his last name and also recognize the man in the link

It's in GRD because people kept posting links to the article. THe staff of TRT decided it was best left in the open as long as it stays as a friendly, flame free, non political discussion. If that's even possible with such a hot button topic. You'll probably find that there is a shorter leash than normal here with this one. The whole situation is a mess.

well, it just goes to show that you never know how close you are to some really bad people. I don't usually speak up but a couple of you post pictures of your kids on here and I always kind of cringe when I see that because of this sort of thing. We are all relative strangers, yet we know roughly where each other live and in some cases we know what each other's kids look like. As much as I want to believe that people are good in general, you just never know who you are really talking to online. Anyway, that's my two cents. I'm not trying to anger anyone, it just seems like a good time to bring this up.

I do think many people post too much of their personal data online, but pics of your kids? I dunno, I can't see how that really hurts anything.

I can understand where wyliecoyote is coming from there, we are on a forum completely open to who ever want to join, now I am not against posting pic's of kids but there are some nut balls out there and being on a forum where people are criticizing others weather it is constructive or not to have that person staring at my kid in the avatar and where I live below it, but then again I have always been over paranoid

I thought long and hard about using V's picture. I may be wrong but I think the risk is the same being pictured here as she is going to the grocery store or even on a walk in the neighbor hood. There are quite a few registered sex offenders in our county and the neighboring one . And who knows how many aren't registered or even caught yet.

That's a good point by Kelli. For those of you worried about posting pics of your kids look into your local sex offenders registry. You might be surprised as to what you find.
