Now that was stupid (if it's real). I noticed the girl is holding the back of her head after she finished while all the guys are hi-fiveing. Like they really had something to do with it.

That's one skinny girl to fit through that hoop. Rick, you're right I think she knocked her noggin on the way through ... that's gotta hurt.
The Orca was amazing - I'd be doing an underpants check after that one! Betcha the whale had a good chuckle with his buddies after that one

If you look closely at the very beginning of the clip, the water to left of the screen shows where something had breached it right before they started filming. You can see the center of the "splash" and the calm around it where the wake of the breach eliminated the natural waves. I would say it's real, also real stupid.

Well once you're there, it's hard to move away quickly enough. IMO for the most part, whales don't intend to do harm - in my (albeit limited) experience, they are curious and even playful. I went on a whale-watching trip on the East coast some years ago and saw several species, including Finbacks and Humpbacks along with some smaller whales and porpoise... they were all curious and cautious but not afraid and not aggressive.
My guess is that the whale in the video saw the kayaks and thought it could have some fun - and it was right
I'd also guess that kayakers in that area experience that sort of thing occasionally too.
I should ask my brother in law - he lives on Vancouver Island and he's out on the water a lot.

Yup, i kinda thought it might be a fake during the beginning of the breach,,,the first part of the orca coming outa the water looked kinda morphed in,,,altho the rest looked real,,,,
Ditto on the girl/b-ball after the hoop,,the dudes were high fivin' , and she was a rubbin her noggin',,,
