No More Work for me!!!!!!

I am happy to say that the factory I work in will (probably) be shutting down on April 1st or there abouts. They never came right out and told us that but they said they have been trying to qualify 2 of our 3 jobs in other plants and they are about there. When the 2 jobs get qualified to run in other plants they will be moving the 3rd job else where as well. They also said that the 3rd job will be done on April 1st, thus, it is heavily implied that the other two jobs will be qualified by then.

I will be so happy to never have to come back here again. I just wonder how I will fill the $100,000 a year void. Does anyone have any suggestions?

There is a new snow shoveling position open at a local resort.

Seriously though, at least you got some notice. I got laid off one time, and sat around in my pajama bottoms drinking beer probably too long..then pounded Monster and got a job in three days.

Get your game together, let a few mentors make comments on your resume then spam the world.

I was at a succession of companies that were all start ups that had trouble chasing money and got bought right and left. The impending doom of my last company was the impetus to consider a life change. We live simply now, but somehow with our paychecks and tips we have more money at the end of the month.

Bummer man, but a job you hate aint worth the friction, like Perry said , Best of luck

So, no more Corvettes, $5000 TVs or $10,000 vacations?

There are other jobs.

We make fairly low wages but live in paradise and I no longer have to take a purple pill every day for my stressed out gut. We are much happier, and I still made enough to cover the Beemer payment over the long weekend. I would not move back to be VP of Ops in a big city right now for any amount of money.

Also, if you have a 5000 dollar TV you are set.

Start looking around at where you might want to live, and do what makes you happy..it is priceless. The impending layoff is a license to goof on the internet and Monster on company time.

I have been doing that for years. The wife don't want to move. I want to live where it is warm she wants to live by her family. Besides I can't move I just put this fishtank in the wall.

Now my wife is telling me (just now that shre read what I wrote up there) that she wants to live where it is warm. Well I gotta go,its time to make the doughnuts.

Jason, hard to say if I'm glad or sad for you with this news. You seem happy to lose a job you didn't like but replacing a 100K income isn't always easy, especially finding work you enjoy.

You sound like you've already been doing your homework so hope everything works out for you.

Good luck!

Dick

I'm embarrassed, Jason. Messed up the name but my good wishes were directed to the right person.
