my new snake!

well here is "coco"
a nice new (to me) Chocolate banded california kingsnake.. the owners instisted it was a florida speclked King...had one before and i see no speckles!
the owners did not want him so i got a 55 gallon , and stuff with him all for free.
seems like people know if you have an extra tank or animal call tim!
it was a good thing they call me. the snake was only getting a mouse everyother week.( he is almost 4 foot long!) and was cold, very very cold. soo i prob. saved his live in a way...
so far he has swallowed 4 rats! they were maybe 2x the size of mice. and he is very happy. the kids love to hold him, but if i am around he make a bee line for me!
he are two shorts up close. i will see if i can find the feeding shot!

We used to play in an old Nike missile site we snuck into (barbed wire was pretty lame as a defense measure) and caught these all the time. They are really mild mannered compared to nasty gopher snakes that would bite you.

That snake should work out well, but I am sort of scared of any snake after stepping on a rattler one time running around when I was eight or so. I didn't get bit but still have snake nightmares.

I know that feeling, Tim -- send us your unwanted critters - I have a huge "SUCKER" tatooed on my forehead I do draw the line at herps though... haven't kept snakes or the like since I was a kid - I was always finding newts and salamanders and the occasional garter snake. My mother was never an animal lover but she was a fairly good sport

Now I have 3 birds, 2 cats, a dog... when do I get the partridge in a pear tree???

far out, Tim! I bet your kids love it. Do they help out with the feed time for the critters?
