Music across the generation gap

I got tickets for Bon Jovi the other night, and my 9 and 10 year old were complaining because they wanted to go. Soon after they went to bed, I realized that my kids listen to the same music I do. From the Who through the Violent Femmes through U2 through NIN through Michelle Branch and Avril Levigne, my kids and me like the same music. I think it's largely the same for country music, too. Is this something uncommon out there, or has music crossed the generation gap?

Violet is a little younger but she loves Rodney Atkins - she listens to his CD everynight before bed

My son listens to a lot of the old rock that I listened to when I was youg, my daughter listens to a lot of the country I was listening to when she was little, but they but listen to a lot of the hard rock and pop that their kids listen to, The only thing my 15 yr old grandson agree on is Linkin Park, In The End , he loathes country and I hate rap , it's a crap shoot

My 22 yr old nephew listens to the same music.
