Fish Ranch II on Larkwood just off US59 Southwest Fwy. Nice guy, fish appear to be in good shape.

Aquarium World on 290 at Hollister (Go out 290, exit Hollister and make a U turn under the freeway. Immediately enter the strip mall area on the right of the feeder.) This place is worth a look just to see their 40,000 gal tank!

I have not bought fish or coral from either. However I got my Live Rock at Fish Ranch. It is great stuff with lots of coraline, macro algae and several tube worms, etc. I think there are some green star polyps coming out on it, time will tell. This was mostly rock that someone had traded in when moving out of town so it was very well cured.

I have only had my tank up for 3 weeks now. The rock from FR II had no dye off at all, in fact I added a food store shrimp for 24 hours to force some kind of NH3 spike. The only problem that I have had so far is algael bloom due to Houston water apparently being laced with phosphate. RO/DI on the way - should deal with that.

I just today added critters and mud from IPFS (http://www.ipfs.com) I am planning to buy fish and coral from Inland Aquatics and other online suppliers of tank raised and captive reared livestock. It costs a little more but I don't want anything captured off a reef.

Houston Aquatics on Shepherd (north of I10 about half way to the 610 loop on the right had side of shepherd heading north) has lower prices than anyone in town. I bought all my substrate there. Their supply of fish is somewhat variable, last time I was over there they had hardly any, but their corals always look to be in good shape.

Good luck!

Thanks Gobrien!

Do you know if they sell RO, RO/DI filters, MH, etc. ?

I know it's probably a silly question, but i'm getting a friend of mine who's there, in a bind, and i wouldn't want him going around Beltway 8 looking for all those places and getting numbing NOs.

Thanks again my friend

I ordered my RO/DI gear from http://www.aquaticreefsystems.com

I haven't even looked in the Houston area.
