Oh come one, Oregon has stuff that matches Tahoe and more, its not far to the beach or the mountains or the desert, and we have a lot more rivers and lakes

Sorry, I moved to Oregon for family, not because I'm in love with the place. Oregon beaches are just plain horrible. They may be pretty when it's sunny (rarely) but 99% of the time it's wet and cold. California has much nicer and a larger variety of beaches. Nothing in Oregon could top Huntington Beach, Big Sur, Yosemite, Mojave Desert just to name a few. The dirtbiking is also much better in CA. I've spent just about equal time in both states so I guess I can say that.
I also have horrible allergies here in the spring. Uggghh.

I have a great Oregon/Californian joke.....wanna hear it?
There is a lot more to Oregon than the beaches and the I-5 corridor. California has some gorgeous stuff though

Too bad you live up in the L zone, theres a lot of Oregon to enjoy without the Cal mindset that prevails where you are

I grew up in Lebanon, Oregon. If you know where that is you know it's a very small town. I know the country life and I didn't mind it too much. I had the Santiam River in my back yard. Growing up I really just got tired of the weather, the family ended up moving to CA. I married a girl from Hillsboro so I ended back up here. She couldn't handle being away from her family. I've heard plenty of CA bashing since being up here. I can say though that every member of her family that I've taken on vacation down to So Cal wonders how I could have ever left. Beach 15 min away and great weather. I guess that's not for everyone though.

I grew up here and was in Scouts. We camped everywhere. I've been to most of the big spots, Florence etc. Oregon is lacking very much in any professional sports or even amusement parks. I mean come on, Enchanted Forest, ever been there? What a joke. And why is the speed limit 55mph everwhere and people can't even drive that? ARRRGGGHH. I'd love to slip between the cars on the freeway on my Yamaha like I did in CA but can't in OR, illegal.
