Jerel and other divers

Hey Spank!

I have a question about masks. I need to get a "real" one but I have no Idea what to look for or how much to pay. Any suggestions on a brand name? Any must have features? What about snorkles? Any suggestions? There are a few good dive shops around here but I could wait until I'm down in the Keys to pick one up. Bob

The most important thing is FIT. If you go by brand, price or anything else alone you will probably be disappointed.

Make sure there are no gaps and that you have "nose room" .

Be patient and try on lots before you buy.

That's true, I like the lens on mine but not the fit - it leaks, I'm used to it.

Wait until you get here, we'll go shopping! I want the new one by Cressi!!!!! BTW I'm still diving with mine put together with a twist tie.

Well, I dive with an Ocean Master, and I loooove that thing. The strap is so comfortable and the fit is really flexible. Plus the nose purge is really neato too . Honestly, I've dove with Sea Visions too, and they are also amazing masks, especially with the color correction and high contrast lenses, but I'd rather see things as they are, with a wide field of vision, thats why I dropped the coin on the Ocean Master. Jerel, I also want to check out that new Cressi bigeye

RWD,,,you can check out a diving "superstore" in Key Largo,,the name evades me now,,,(Jerel?)last time i was down in 'da Keys, my first dive ,,i noticed i could not see as well as b4 underwater,,,,D'oh!!!! i forgot i was wearing contacts all the times b4,,, (back to glasses,,) needless to say i drove north and found a mask that accepts "scription" lenses. checked out the lenses, picked two that worked,,and the guy fixed me up in 10 minutes. prices were pretty good, as i remember for all their stuff , and had a lot more than up here for us "landlocked" divers.
mebbe Jerel or some of the other "rock-hoppers" can pass along the name/link to the place,,,

Thanks Guy's for the advice. I think I'll wait until I get down there again to buy a mask. That would be great if anyone knows the name of the store Junkzoo is talking about.
Jerel, I'm not suprised that your mask is held together with paper clips and Elmers glue. After seeing your chum bag thingy made from rope, a stick and the water container, I'll believe anything

Divers Discount - but they don't carry Cressi

Yes Alice, it's exactly like that. I love that mask but the clip that holds the strap broke, so I fixed it with a twist tie.
