Is anyone here into Martial Arts?
I am just curious if anyone here is into Martial Arts?
I study Shotokan Karate along with my wife and son.
Knowing karate has often helped me with many LFS employees.

I recently started tae kwon do. I recall someone here being a black belt in one of the discliplines...who was that? They lived in the middle of the country...that's all I can remember.
I ain't too bright, ya know.

I studied Aikido for several years. I keep thinking I shoulkd get into Tai Chi to rehab my leg, but I feel better and more confident with IPSC under my belt

I enjoyed Kenpo more than Tae Kwon Do. If I attended another school it would be Kenpo. Tell em to keep at it.

It's nice to see so many others were or still are into Martial Arts.
After watching my son do karate for about a year and a half, my wife and I decided to take class with him. Now we are all addicted and take class three days a week. We also enter all the local tournaments and even have one coming up this weekend. My son just got his green belt yesterday and he now half way to black belt. I can't find the words to express how proud of him I am that he has stuck with it and gone so far.

My son Trevor studied Tae Kwon Do for a few years during high school at a local academy...earned his 1st degree black belt. Army ROTC physical training in college pretty much stopped his Tae Kwon Do, but he was very dedicated to it while a member of the Academy.
I recently ran into another kid who was a member of the same academy... he was a little 4th grader when Trevor was in high school... white belt... Now he's 16, 4th degree black belt earned in Korea last summer, and going to national tournaments!
I studied Judo and Karate in college... but didn't go far with it. Just really enjoyed it, especially Judo.

My youngest son takes Tae Kwon Do. He just got his brown belt this week. Here's a pic from his test last Saturday. Sorry for the poor pic quality.
