What have you changed recently? Open the device manager and find is there a little yellow question mark? Try updating the drivers. Don't get mad at my next question stupid things happen. Are your speakers plugged in?

Haha,

That is a very common audio chip. I've seen it in lots of PC's. Ya, start with the obvious. Everything hooked up? Has it worked before? What do you mean it's not showing up in the BIOS? If it's onboard it should have settings in the BIOS setup screen. Are they there? Is it enabled?
When in windows does the device show up on your device manager screen under sound controllers? Are there any yellow question marks as platypus suggested?

Ok do you have your mother board book?? There are some jumpers on your motherboard that might have to be moved in order for the onboard audio to be activated.

If you dont have your motherboard book next question is not as bad as johns but what brand and model do you have? Then i can go look at their site and it should have some PDF files on your board and also some drivers to download for your boards audio.
