This is true, I used to work for Circuit City, about 10% of the people that do buy the extended warranty actually need/use it. The extended warranties there usually include cleanings and some maintainance, if you bring the item in, only on some items though. They offer it on cd's and dvd's now too!!!

I was just gonna say. I was in Best Buy the other day to get a new CD, and they asked me if I wanted the warranty on it. On a CD?!?

I told the lady it wasn't necessary...with all the copies I'll be making and selling on the corner, I am guaranteed a backup. She looked like I'd just punched her in the gut.

At which point I had to explain I was kidding.
