Hello From Guam

Hello. It's been a while since I logged in and thought I'd say hello. I'll now be checking this site on a more regular basis again.

YES, my 300g is still in storage.

Guam is great....great diving in all surrounding islands. The best diving, of course, would be Palau.

Golf is good in the South Pacific, too.

I return to the PNW in less than a year, afterwhich I will be seeking your guidance in setting up another tank.

Hope all is well,
Cheers,

Mike

I had the best time diving in Guam back in my Navy days. They have bomb pits that are full of amazing stuff that have grown in there. Also, after you swim out a little in shallow water the reef just drops straight down to the bottom of the Marianas Trench. It was scary to even look down.

The only bad thing about my diving there is one time it was hot and I wanted to look all tough and wore no shirt or rash gard and ripped my nipples into hamburger with the tank straps.

Nice to know some of you remembered me.

Hey, I was snorkling the other day, about 100 yards offshore, just withing the reef, at an opening in the reef where the current was strong and it got shallow (kinda dangerous out there, actually), and I noticed the corals where MUCH more vibrant, MUCH more colorful, MUCH more numerous....the BRIGHTEST, WILDEST colors I have ever seen in nature. And at that very point it dawned on me....the whole goal in reef keeping is to mimic that very spot in which I was swimming....lots of water flow, lots of light. I never wanted to leave that spot.

Alice, I am indeed returning to the great PNW next year....I have a house and family there. I also retire from the Navy next year (so if anyone is hiring....haha).

Looking forward to the return home and a return to my aquarium.

Tropically,
Mike
