have any other hobbies?
does anyone here have a hobby besides fishies?
i have too many (and i'm gonna keep adding more)
i guess the coolest thing would be my pez collection. i have a whole wall *full* of them..the "mighty wall of pez" as it's known in my house...
i also collect records..yeah, the vinyl kind. love johnny cash, patsy cline, k-tel disco compilations, the beatles, everything really...i'm a nutty girl
i'm an artist. mostly, i paint. i sell a bit, but have been in a slump. i also do cross-stitch, knitting/chrocet, and beadwork
i like comics a bit, i love wolverine & fantastic four. spidey's good, and daredevil...
i also collect action figures...between me & my boyfriend we have ALOT all over the house, we take them out of the packages, but we display them ALL OVER. (ok sometimes we play with them too!! ) currently guarding my new tank are batman, spiderman, daredevil & the hulk...they're all on their own mountable wall displays...let's see someone try to mess with my tank with those dudes hovering over it HEH!!!
oh and star wars....love those movies....got alot of figures....
i like tv. not much for current stuff, but older shows are my fave. three's company, golden girls, brady bunch...all that cheezy stuff
i really love the simpsons, though. but i only have a small collection of simpsons stuff. mostly i'm a whiz at simpsons trivia, i'm contemplating going on a game show for it....here's some pix of my simpsons stuff...but i also have a great book & a box of simpsons band-aids in the bathroom

That's cool Ann-Marie. I guess you already knew that the voice of Bart Simpson is done by a girl.
My other hobby is youth baseball. I don't know where my son got his skill from but it wasn't from me.

Neat thread, Ann-Marie!
Hmm...well one of my other hobbies is singing. Classical type stuff. I do enjoy it, but shees! It's time consuming. But as for listening- I am not just a classical nerd, I like all different kinds of music.
I really do like to make bread the old fashioned way. Great Sunday afternoon activity.

I used to golf a lot, but lateley all my free time and money have gone towards my tank. I think Ill start playing soon. There is nothing more relaxing than waking up on a beautiful summer morning, dew still on the grass, birds chirping and the sun slowly rising over the horizon. Your the first to the course, you strap your bag to the cart and drive up to the first tee. After a few stretches you secure the glove tightly to your hand, tee up the ball and begin your pre shot routine. It beautiful, you cant wait to see the track of your ball though the dew on the fairway. Then you shank the ball into the woods, snap the club over your knee and scream obsenities at your friends and golf equiptment. You realize you stink and that you have 4 more hours of this aggravation ahead of you. Its a beautiful game!

Heyas
Jerel, didn't you forget to mention boat engine repair in your list?
My main other hobby is being an (wannabe?) artist.
Ann-Marie, any chance we could get you to post some of your work? I really enjoy looking at art (considered another hobby?). Have you drawn any parellels between being able to call yourself an "artist" and a character's being able to call him/herself a Jedi in Star Wars? Maybe reading into it too much.
Other than that, I really love literature, history, SCUBA, freediving, fitness, hiking, sailing, backpacking, fishing...
Chris

Let's see....from days past, but no longer time/equipment, etc:...
Spelunking
Horseback riding/training, camping, hiking, painting in oils (land/seascapes)
Flying small airplanes and aerobatics...never got my license finished, but did loops, rolls, spins, and decent take-offs...Bellanca Citabria - flew it to Bimini with my female flight instructor back in '78!
Currently...
the obvious...anything saltwater!
TURTLES ! I've ALWAYS loved turtles and have almost always had some...currently have 8 turtles, 5 species, all water turtles and living in the backyard "turtle pond".
Reptiles of all kinds...used to have various colors of Corn Snakes.
Birds: We have 5: pair of Bourke's Parakeets, pair of Pacific Parrotlets (with 5 eggs!), and Shelby, our Bare-eyed Cockatoo
Sonja, our Schnauzer, and Christy, our cat (neutered...)
snorkeling!! I love snorkeling! Steve and Troy are SCUBA certified.
Creekwalking with my students...exploring for whatever we might find...found a baby snapping turtle last year and he's quite big now! Very friendly, too!
Photography
Editing video, making video shorts and docs
Reading when I have time....
Bluegrass-style guitar -- my father gave me his Martin
FAMILY! My all-time favorite pasttime....being with Steve and our sons!
