Happy Birthday, John Wayne

Today is the 100th anniversary of John Wayne's birth!



Encore Westerns Channel is running John Wayne films tonight and TCM had been showing The Duke for the past several days.

It would be impossible to pick one single favorite of all his movies but In Harm's Way, Big Jake, Hondo, Rio Lobo, She Wore A Yellow Ribbon, Sands of Iwo Jima, Red River, The Shootist, True Grit, Horse Soldiers, Wings of Eagles, are among my favorites.

I flew out of John Wayne airport for years, and they have a way cool life size statue of him in the terminal.
