I own a Kill A Watt meter (OK actually I bought 4 dozen) - our local Saltwater club went in on a group buy that I organized. Came to $21 each
http://www.the-gadgeteer.com/review/...monitor_review

I decided to extend my measurements to household items - lights & other devices. I found out my TV, DVD player & stereo use almopst 100w when turned off. We now shut the surge strip off at night before we go to bed. Turn it on when we get home from work. Saves 100w of power burning every hour for 19 hours
I tested my rope light, 18' - listed as .3 amps = 36 watts
Actual test = .41 amps and 50 watts, that's almost 50% more!!!
so 7 strings = an increase from 252 rated to 350w actual
I'll have to test some more stuff

Okay now that is funny. At least they are not Irish Yoga Masters and look like they won't wake up in pain.

I wired up another outside outlet, GFCI protected
That gets rid of another extension cord!!
My rope lights goes all the way around the front fence to the side yard fence & to the back corner of the house where the outlet is
Now I have an outlet on each side of the house

I was going to put an empty rum bottle out by the guy on the grave
Would that be going too far?

WOW that is a lot... what 50 gallons?
check your foggers ahead of time. we found 3 foggers had bad gaskets and leaked badly!
easy to fix though

Supposed to rain for the next 3 days, so I am back on inside electric work
