I'm looking to connect my 2 existing outside outlets to mechanical timers to turn everything off & on at the same time. Recent rain we had tripped the GFCI on one outlet, despite the fact it has an in-use wet cover

http://www.intermatic.com/images/ins...heets/wh40.pdf

Any other ideas? I'd rather stay awy from x-10 on the outside circuits
I'm considering them for inside the house

one thing i use and we are using this year,is the auto plug outlet. it has a remote to it so real easy to use and it made for the out side. it hold only three cords , but nice thng is, they are not the same channel to turn on and off. we will use 3 to do everything.

I have (3) intermatic timers TM009 (short cords) that are rated for 1000 watts, but they are photocell controlled. This works for Halloween due to lower lighting levels. But they aren't rated to work on my (3) 1200w foggers, but then again - I should be able to just turn these on & leave them on? Options for use are: ON/OFF or
Dusk to Dawn
Photocell controlled, staying on for 2,4,6 or 8 hours after Dusk
I usually set them to 6 hours. Then night before Halloween & Halloween to 8 hours. Due to the weekend around Halloween I will probably change them to 8 hour son that Friday

For Christmas once all the lights are on the photocell thinks its daylight & shuts off. I can usually point them away form the lights & they work
They were 70% off last year so I bought 3.

I have a 4th that is a stake that you stick in the ground, it has a 15' power cord & has 3 outlets. Its rated at 15a = 1800w, which will work for the graveyard (unless I change that outlet to the mechanical timer)

I have a mechanical timer that will run 2 circuits. SO I'm going to hook that up to 2 outside outlets

Putting up the 6' skull & 8' spider for tonight!!
I "hid" the skull inflateable, returned the 4' one - inside use only
The wife asked me where I bought the skull....duh...I hid it where the recycle bin is normally stored

The 4 inflatables are up: 2 - new 2006
Skull - near the grave yard
Spider - on the boat, near the graveyard - legs hanging over the edge, they move around in the wind

Front lawn: 2 years old
Frankenstein
Pumpkin w/3 ghosts coming out of it

2 strings: 1 Orange & 1 purple rope light are down the walkway
2 strings Red rope lights are around the graveyward

I have 5 more strings of red rope light I can put out
I'll have to see how it looks tonite

I have a Wattmiser - I'm going to see the wattage on each device
I think their tags may be rated high

I haven't decided on the 2 outlets on the mechanical timer
I may just do that for Christmas - too much to do before Halloween
It will be setup for next year

Next will be the flying ghost & ghoul
They have 25' cord that they go back & forth on
I need to buy maybe fishing line to extend it to the Oak tree

The wife gave the OK to put the red rope light up
She even said it would save me some work at Christmas since I could leave them up!!

Those timers may be a seasonal item
Can't find them in a search

Yeah, a wired remote would come in handy
I'm going to try some X-10 modules I have
I'm going out to plug a fogger in & see how it works

The 400w Wally mart fogger really works nice
It has an off/on switch
Basically - plug it in & let it heat up
Once it heats up the orange light goes on
If the switch is "off' click it on to start the fog
If the switch is already in the "on" position it will instantly fog when it reaches temp. It will then cycle & fog again & again as long as the switch is in the "on" position

Quite a bit of fog that comes out, reheat time is very short
I'm thinking on rewiring & extending the button, that way I can hit the switch from inside & start the fog when someone walks up
OR - wire in a motion detector - so it will trigger as people walk by?

Has anyone ever cut one of the switch wires & extended it?

Has anyone ever wired in a motion detector?

I put 5 Blucky's out, 2 are hanging from the boat
One is spread out on a grave
2 are lounging in bright green chaise lounge chairs
A 6th I am going to hang from a tree

Harvested the gourd garden
Lots of white gourds, quite a lot of small white pumpkins
A couple orange gourds

Also found a basketball sized pumpkin growing. I didn't plant any pumpkins!! It hasn't turned orange yet, so I'm letting it grow
I just toss the seeds out in an area near the woods

Next year I'll plant pumpkins since the gourds did so well

I stuffed a skeleton shirt (old Halloween costume) & put a head on it & put it out on the bench in front of the house. Also stuffed a white jump suit & put that out with another head. I still have 5 more heads - only 1 more jump suit

Still need to figure out where the foggers are going to go
