man, all my favorite famous people keep dying
today, ted williams, the splendid splinter, teddy ballgame, the kid, the thumper, number 9 for the boston red sox, 2 time triple crown winner, died today at age 83....
what a guy....not only was he a red sox player, but he actually left baseball during his peak years to fight in the war as a marine. and he did that TWICE!
he certainly led a full life, but it is sad to see a legend go
at age 20, he was quoted: "all i want out of life is that, when i walk down the street, folks will say, 'there goes the greatest hitter who ever lived'."
well here ya go, buddy....
