Can you take the bulb out and turn it over? It shoudl be printed somewhere on it.

silver part? the pins?

the 18w bulbs I use on Violets tank are 9" from the pin to the end of the bulb

It was printed on the other side. It is a 13W bulb and I am not happy now.

Pins to end of bulb is probably 6" if the silver part was 5 1/2"

if so this is the retro kit I used for Violets tank

www.nanotuners.com has some good inexpensive retro kits


and don't worry my Husband wired it up no worries about me burning down the house

The canopy and the stand both will be curved to match the tank. So that it looks like a bow front tank/stand/canopy shrunk down (Which is what it will be).

I would not get the 2*18 kit for that tank,.. I think you need more than that.
