Some of the bigger Rios are famous for catastophic tank killing failures a few years back (search Rio meltdown) Back then they were not UL rated, hopefully they are better now
I had Josh test it with his, he said it was 1.017 and mine said 1.024-1.025 but I don't know how accurate his is or when it was last calibrated.
I think I am going to take a water sample and my hydrometer to Rob's and let him check it for me if I can get there before he closes. |
The swing arms arent bad IF A you compare it to a quality refractometer, and that you faithfully rinse it with RO after using, i used to set mine upside down on it's shelf

I rinsed it with tap water, was all I had. Right now, it is going to do what I need to do since I know how far off it is. My water is at 1.023 by a refractometer so I am going to leave it be unless something happens to make me think it changed.
