Gave notice

Well bit off more than I can chew and gave notice for Oct 31st at my current company.

Working alongside someone that has been there 26 years is something I am not signing up for again, nor is working with all wimmen. Getting hired to work alongside a consultant to do the same thing sucks as well.

I guess the deal killer was no one would make a decision....ever!!!

I'll let you folks know where the duffel bag, the Beemer and Blitz end up. Got FOWLR and am prepared to move that as well.

My last job... Every one was new and no one would make a decision. So, I made all the decisions and no one would follow up, so, I did all the following up, and no one would keep records, so, I kept all the records, ETC...

The moral of the story is... you never know what you will get into.

My work is the most hostile work environment I have ever been in.
Last Mgr is no longer there, complaints were filed w/HR & the head of the location. The head guy had just been promoted & rumor was he didn't like the guy's methods either.
New boss isn't much better, I'll be filing another complaint w/HR
Another lady said she was filing a complaint last week
Basically we are treated like dirt

I'm not about to quit, I think that is exactly what they are trying to do
The people with the most seniority, vacation time & highest pay seem to be constantly harassed
So much so that most are scared of being fired & will not speak up
The wife has a great job, so I am starting to look
I may go back to contracting, as this Spring I'm plannig on building an addition to the house

Hate to hear that job isn't working out, Perry. It sounded like they needed you. Good luck with the new search.

Thanks for the replies. Being head of Purchasing and Inventory Control with zero signature authority sort of sums it up. In between all this carousing around I did listen a little to the problems and griefs and instead of moving to address them we are paying 60 grand to a consultant to eat well and put sticky notes up for problems we already know about. If you want to know what people are upset about drink a beer and listen (even if you are a bad listener like me).

Along with my resignation I submitted a plan to save my annual salary in one day. However it appears that there is really no way to mitigate this without a dramatic shift in corporate culture. I just landed in a mud puddle as old Jim would day for those of you that remember my old timer buddy up on the mountain.

Sorry for my rants.

Consultants often aren't a good value, especially as time goes on.

I wish you the best, my friend.

I don't care if I end up on a snowplow or in sales..something will come along probably like before I type this. That and another girl.

Just trying to go with the current here. When you get caught in a riptide swim gently to the side and do not try and fight it. After going from a six figure job to cutting the grass on a mountain to being cleaned out from a girl with eleven cents to my name back to an ops guy that has zero duties but to post on TRT something will come along.

Nothing that happens will surprise anyone...guess we will see which dart I threw out hits home.
